Florentin
Solo exhibition at OpenWine bar and gallery, Tel Aviv
June 15, 2023—July 15, 2023
Florentin is a neighborhood in the southern part of Tel Aviv. As with much of south Tel Aviv, for many decades it suffered from urban decay and poverty. However, since the 1990s and 2000s, the area has attracted many younger residents and artists who were first attracted by its lower rents, and the neighborhood is now also associated with a bohemian lifestyle. Florentin now has numerous artists' workshops, cafes, restaurants, markets, and graffiti tours.
Elina found genuine inspiration in the vibrant landscapes of contemporary Florentine life—the enticing aromas of freshly baked bread and invigorating coffee wafting from corner cafes, and the delightful serendipity of chance encounters with friends along the narrow streets of this charming area. In a heartfelt tribute to her heartwarming feelings for Florence, she dedicated a series of classic impressionist works.
On June 15, 2023, the Florentine wine store "Open Wine" amiably opened its doors at 19:00, hosting Elina's solo exhibition featuring the same series of impressionist works. The exhibition served as a visual celebration of Elina's deep connection with Florentine, capturing the essence of her sensory experiences and translating them into a captivating display of vibrant colors.
