ABOUT THE ARTIST

Elina Gomberg is a multidisciplinary Israeli artist, originally from St. Petersburg, Russia now residing in Tel Aviv. Her diverse inventory of means of self-expression include painting, animation, interior design, mosaic, and tattoo artistry, Elina's diverse expertise reflects a rich approach to creativity.

 

Her paintings showcase a distinct blend of figurative expressionism and classical impressionism. Through deep saturated colours, sweeping lines, and an aesthetic of detailed carelessness, Gomberg weaves a visual narrative that delves into personal sensory experiences and universal philosophical inquiries.

 

In the realm of interior design, Elina has left her mark in authentic establishments in St. Petersburg. Her large-scale wall murals adorn spaces in India and Italy, showcasing the global reach of her artistic contributions.

 

Animation emerges as a significant facet of Elina's creativity. Over several years, she has crafted cartoons for both adults and children, employing a unique style that sets her work apart.

 

Adding to her repertoire, Elina has recently embraced tattoo artistry, employing hand-poke and machine techniques to etch her signature sensual designs onto the skin of others.

 

Elina passionately pursues various creative endeavours simultaneously. She continues to paint, actively participates in exhibitions, creates tattoos, and draws captivating cartoons, embodying a dynamic and multifaceted artistic career.

BIO

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1983, Elina began started drawing at the age of 13, creating backgrounds for children’s shows hosted by a local screenwriter and theatre director Ilya Tilkin.

Elina graduated from The Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design with a degree in Monumental Arts and Interior Design. While studying, she worked in a luxury events studio, organizing extravagant weddings and presentations, specifically responsible for decorations.

​

After the Academy, she worked as a restoration architect, holding a leading architect position for the restoration of the historic buildings of the Senate and the Synod in St. Petersburg.

​

She conducted research in the Main Staff building in the very heart of the city and at the New Holland, working as an architect and a surveyor on exploratory digs and archaeological excavations in these areas.

​

She worked on mosaics, partly creating a mosaic fountain in Veliky Novgorod commemorating the 900th anniversary of the Hanseatic League.

​

For almost 20 years, she specialized in interiors including designing interiors of private houses and residences, bars and restaurants, and even dental clinics.

​

For over 10 years, she created murals, including rooms in private interiors, a facade of a house in India, and facades of workshops in Verona. She also painted almost all public interiors where she was the designer.
